Many thanks to Mt. Airy Children’s Dental Associates for sponsoring our 2018 Birth & Babies Fair! We are so grateful for your support of this important event, and for your ongoing work in the community!
The mission of Mt. Airy Children’s Dental Associates is to provide excellence in dental care and to treat your child as we would treat our own family. Our philosophy is traditional, based on the belief that good oral health is an important part or your child’s total health.
Dr. David Hasson, founder and owner, and his associates, Dr. Allison Green and Dr. Michael Virts, treat children from infancy through college, including those with special needs. Our orthodontist, Dr. Stuart Sheer, treats adults as well as children and is a certified Invisalign® provider.
The American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Association of Pediatrics all recommend that children have a dental home by baby’s first birthday. This first dental visit is the equivalent of a well-baby exam. Normal growth and development is discussed, along with feeding and infant oral care instructions. We are so committed to the concept of this infant oral care exam that the first appointment up to 18 months of age is complimentary!
Sadly, cavities in children remain the most common childhood disease. Increased intake of snacks and sugary drinks, which include juice, soda and sports drinks, plays a large part in these statistics, along with the increased use of bottled water without fluoride.
Parents should routinely gently lift the child’s lip and look for any signs of decay which might include white spots on the teeth near the gum line or brown spots on the front or back of teeth. Many times this developing decay can be reversed without the need for extensive treatment. Contact your dentist right away if you see any of these early signs of decay.
Mt. Airy Children’s Dental Associates is a comprehensive pediatric/orthodontic specialty practice with the belief that orthodontics plays an essential part in child oral care.
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends an orthodontic evaluation at or around age 7. Your child’s initial consult with Dr. Stuart Sheer is complimentary.
Trust the specialists in child-centered, parent-friendly dental care at Mt. Airy Children’s Dental Associates for all your child’s dental and orthodontic needs.
