Jessica Kent began working with The Birthing Circle in the fall of 2015 after the birth of her son, Cody. As a certified holistic doula, a La Leche League volunteer, and a proud mother, she brings a deep passion for improving birth, raising healthy babies, and building community to the Birthing Circle. Jessica uses her varied backgrounds of social work, women’s studies, and project management to provide the best care to the women and babies she serves. Jessica serves as President, Executive Director, co-leads the Frederick chapter, and serves as a doula for the Birthing Circle Doula Project. Additionally, Jessica is a County Commissioner to the Frederick County Commission for Women.

Andrea Cordell-Proper

Andrea Cordell-Proper

Board Member

For over a decade Andrea has dedicated her life to birth work, advocating for birth rights, supporting the birth process and since 2009 as a birth doula. Her hope is to provide support and education to any expectant family seeking it as well as to offer an open environment for birth workers to grow and learn. She feels that if we give a mom and baby a strong start, it strengthens the family, in turn strengthening the community. When she is not supporting families, Andrea is with her 5 children.
